Jennifer Campbell-Klomps, daughter of Jamaican parents who immigrated to the UK in the 1950s, was educated in Wolverhampton at St Peter’s Collegiate School and attended Wulfrun College of Further Education. She was a specialist Shorthand Writer and Servicewoman from 1978-1990 and served in Northern Ireland, England and Germany.
Jennifer was a board member of the Friends of Douglas House, a charity organization which organized fundraising events for The German School in Richmond. From 2009-2011, she was a committee member of the Communications, IT and Media Board and worked on a SMS/E-mail messaging project which was later successfully implemented. For three years, she took on the responsibility of running the Elterncafe (Parents’ Coffee Room) which enabled parents to meet in a bright and comfortable environment to read information about activities in and around the school. She was involved in preparing German/English advertising information which was sent out electronically and reached approximately 700 parents.
Jennifer attended a Shadow Local Councillor’s Scheme in 2009 and joined the Liberal Democrat Party in December 2009. Later on she stood as a candidate, was nominated and elected to represent the Worcester Park ward. In January 2012, Jennifer resigned her role as a local councillor and is now living with her children in Santa Ursula, Tenerife. Her husband Mark commutes between the UK and Tenerife.
